Internships Description

The Internship Program: Language and Work

As global trading is increasing among various countries, it is becoming increasingly important for individuals to know a foreign language. To master conversational and writing skills is crucial in a workplace environment.

This program offers students the opportunity to develop communication skills, gain a different perspective of living and working in a different culture, and to develop effective functional skills in a specific field.

A language competency exam will be given upon your acceptance into the program. The results of this exam will determine your placement in CLIDA's instructional program.

Interns will spend between 8 weeks in their internship placements. They will assist the organization, agency or business to which they are assigned. The company will help you learn the functions of the business and your role in it. Students will be required to keep a journal of their experiences, submit copies of functional reports prepared for the company, and prepare a final report summarizing all of their activities and projects, with relevant comments on their experiences. Upon completion of the program students will have earned, depending on language levels taken, between 6 to 9 credits.

NOTE: All internships are unpaid.
